A novel nano-enabled color barcode system created by Microsoft will be embedded onto DVDs. DatatraceDNA has been selected to commercialize the nanoparticles technology into the structure of the code and packaging, creating a more sophisticated solution to combat counterfeit activity. In addition to offering more security to the DVD, the nano-enabled barcode could also hold special information for the consumer, such as bonus features for a video game, or links to exclusive movie trailers.
