The atom switch is a new nano device which controls the transfer of atoms using a solid-state electrochemical reaction. Although it belongs to machine switches, it can realize high performance exceeding over semiconductor devices by the realization of element dimensions at nano scale.Trial basic arithmetic circuits such as a logic circuit have been successfully fabricated, and early practical applications are expected.
